Frequently Asked Questions for Phone in Guests

1. Will I get to talk to the interviewer before the actual interview?

The interviewer will call you before your interview is scheduled to take place, to discuss any questions you may have and brief you about the format the interview will take.

2. What is the procedure if I become unforeseeably unavailable at the arranged interview time?

Should you foresee any problems with your pre-arranged interview time, please contact Studio Support at your soonest convenience so we can make other arrangements(0845 117 3000 support@wmr.com)

3. Can I call in from a mobile phone?

No. Our listeners expect the highest standards of broadcast quality audio for our programmes.

4. Will the interviewer already be familiar with my products and services?

Yes. We would like to publicise and preview your appearance on WMR.com before your interview -- making sure you get the maximum return for your time with us. With this in mind, we ask you to supply us (by email) a profile photograph (suggested resolution 300 dots per inch / pixels per inch) a short (approx 200 words) biography including your website details and a list of questions you would like us to ask you (or a list of topics you are happy to talk about.) If you are promoting a specific product on WMR.com, please also email us with a photograph of the product and a short description you would like to feature alongside it. We will include this information on our website, and it will appear onscreen during the duration of your interview when it is broadcast. Please email the above information to: support@wmr.com at your soonest convenience.

5. Will my interview go out live on air?

That depends on the programme. Some are 'Live' others are pre-recorded. Our 'Live' guests will be informed prior to the call, otherwise your interview will be pre-recorded and professionally edited.

6. What sort of programme will I be on?

Each programme has a dedicated profile on WMR.com. Once you know which programme you will be appearing on, check the relevant programme page for more information regarding the tone, and topics of the programme.

7. How long will my interview take?

Your phone interview should take around 45 minutes. We will call you 5 minutes before your interview is scheduled to take place. Please leave 15 minutes additional time in case the interview over-runs.

8. Will I have the questions before the programme begins?

No. We ask that you send us across a list of questions that you would like us to ask you, or a list of topics that you feel comfortable discussing. We will endeavour to hold the conversation around this.

9. Will there be other guests be on air at the same time as myself?

WMR.com usually interviews guests individually. Should this not be the case, we will be in touch with you well in advance to brief you on who will be appearing alongside you.

10. What will happen if my phone line becomes unclear when I am on air?

As a phone in guest, you will be on your land-line, which is usually reliable. We will arrange to call a little ahead of time to do some 'line tests' whilst going through 'pre-amble'. The studio support team will handle any issues during the call and will professionally edit the recording
